Oahu presents the classic US contrasts, modern wealthy city, with a sprinkling of encampments of the homeless, and good mountain scenery.  Also a very nice climate and good hiking trails.
As in the other Hawaiian islands, anchorages and dock space are very limited.  We were lucky enough to snag a dock in the Waikiki Yacht Club, right downtown, beside Waikiki Beach.
Very comfortable with friendly members and staff. (sorry, no photos of club)

The birds are beautiful, but the chicks less so.
Although albatross are generally considered to be birds of remote regions, there is a nesting site only 20 miles or so from Honolulu.  The birds survive because the nearest road is about 3 miles away, and, more importantly the Park Service has fenced off Ka'ena Point to keep rats and other egg eaters out.
